IN PURSUIT OF SILENCE feature film documentary

In Pursuit of Silence is a meditative feature-film documentary exploring our relationship with silence, sound, and the impact of noise on our lives. Released in Picturehouse cinemas across London and nationwide, in October 2016, it will now be available on DVD from August 13th 2017.

Quiet Mark funded and delivered the UK market distribution of the feature documentary, in partnership with John Lewis, as part of its core mission as the award programme associated  with the UK's Noise Abatement Society. 

In Pursuit of Silence is an encounter with silence through the medium of film. It delivers a meditative and immersive experience. A piece of art rather than a social issue film designed to incite audiences to take action, or support a cause. However, it is deeply emotive, combining creativity with facts that may inspire meaningful life changes, awakening a long-lost human desire for silence.

Directory Patrick Shen calls the film "a piece of devotional work". It is shot in a way that mimics our experience of the world when we are still - with beautiful scenes untouched by crane moves, sweeping drone shots or pans. Its overall rhythm is carefully crafted with the human metabolism in mind. As much a work of devotion as it is a documentary, In Pursuit of Silence is set to change the way we think about our aural landscape - an invitation to begin our own individual journey to find the treasures, truth and benefits from seeking silence.

The film features Quiet Mark's Poppy Szkiler and a number of Quiet Mark awarded brands who've made long term investments in acoustic engineering, including BMW, Miele, Dyson and Virgin Atlantic.
