Daikin’s Altherma High Temperature Heat Pump gets Quiet Mark Certification

DAIKIN’S ALTHERMA HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT PUMP GETS QUIET MARK CERTIFICATION

Daikin UK has announced that its Altherma 3 H HT heat pump is now Quiet Mark certified, increasing its appeal for homeowners.

The Altherma 3 H HT has passed rigorous acoustic assessments and laboratory tests to become certified. Several major components of the product have been enhanced to help minimise its sound output, including a double injection compressor and a single fan – even on large capacity units – which help to reduce the noise it makes to whisper-quiet levels.

Iain Bevan, commercial manager, heating & renewables at Daikin UK, said: “Lots of people are spending more time at home these days, so it’s no surprise that 62% of UK consumers would like a quieter home. And that’s why three quarters of people are more likely to buy an appliance that’s labelled ‘quiet’ over one that isn’t.

“This independent, credible certification from Quiet Mark gives installers another reason to recommend the Altherma 3 H HT, and should help more homeowners make confident decisions to go green.”

The Daikin Altherma high temperature air-to-water heat pump delivers heating, hot water and optional cooling.

Comprising a compact indoor unit, and sleek outdoor unit, the Daikin Altherma high temperature heat pump delivers water temperatures of up to 70°C, so it’s fully compatible with older radiators that require a higher temperature flow.

It can be configured with a Daikin wall-mounted indoor unit and separate domestic hot water cylinder, or as a floor-standing unit with integrated domestic hot water cylinder.

Iain Bevan added: “While it’s always important that homeowners improve the energy efficiency and insulation of their properties as much as possible, with the Altherma 3 H HT, there’s no need to replace their existing radiators.

“Homeowners who upgrade from a gas boiler to our high temperature heat pump will therefore experience minimal disruption during the installation, and throughout the system’s lifetime.”

Daikin offers a three-level training course format on its Altherma heat pumps – including the high temperate model, as well as the monobloc, low temperature, hybrid and water source ranges.

The first level covers Standard Installation, the second covers Advanced Installation and Commissioning, and the third is on Service and Fault Finding.

Free training is one of a number of business benefits available to installers who join the Daikin Sustainable Home Network.
